Recrafted Self is a space for people who are tired of fighting their own minds.
If you’re here because you want to grow, heal, or simply make sense of your inner world—you’re in the right place.
This Month’s Focus (Aug 2026): Goodness
Goodness is one of those words we think we understand—until we try to define it.
We tend to measure it by how we treat others. But what if genuine goodness starts somewhere closer to home? What if the way we treat ourselves—our inner child, our future self, our own needs and limits—is actually the foundation everything else is built on?
In this series, goodness is explored as both an inward practice and an outward expression. We’ll look at what it means to be a good person, what it means to be good to yourself, how goodness shapes the way we parent, and how it radiates out into our relationships and the world around us.
You won’t find a checklist here for being a better person. Only an honest, research-backed, story-driven exploration of what goodness actually looks like when it’s lived from the inside out.
Start here:
👉 What Makes Someone a Good Person? It’s More Complicated Than You Think.
Inside this post, I blend personal storytelling, research-backed insight, and an unflinching look at one of history’s darkest chapters to explore a question most of us assume we already know the answer to: what actually makes someone a good person?
The answer is more complicated—and more hopeful—than it first appears.
Here, goodness is treated not as a personality trait you either have or you don’t, but as something we practice every time we choose to stay in alignment with our values, even when it costs us something. It’s rooted in moral character, nervous system awareness, and a clearly defined personal why—because without that anchor, even well-meaning people can be pulled toward harm.
Together, we examine what moral character actually looks like in practice, what the Rwandan genocide reveals about ordinary people under extraordinary pressure, why perfectionism is the enemy of good, and how to reconnect with your values when guilt and overwhelm have pulled you off course.
You’ll also find free resources designed to help you examine your own moral character honestly and without shame—including a values clarity worksheet and a real-world scenario reflection tool.
Because goodness isn’t something we are. It’s something we keep choosing.
